Kelsey & Billy at Chippenham Park
This was my first time for me shooting a wedding at Chippenham park and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Chippenham Park is a privately-owned Grade II listed house, surrounded by 300 acres of Parkland and Gardens within easy reach of Cambridge and London. The house is so beautiful, it has 3 different ceremony locations and has a separate marque for the reception to party the night away.
Shooting at venues for the first time is never a problem for me, I would say 50% are new to me on the day as I photograph weddings over all the UK. If a venue is new to me however I always arrive super early to the venue to take a look around, hunt for photo locations and get to know the wedding coordinator. In fact I actual prefer to arrive at a venue for the first time on a wedding day as this allows me to assess the weather, how the light might look on your day and look at spaces with fresh eyes.
As Kelsey and Billy were getting ready at different locations, having a church ceremony and their wedding reception at Chippenham Park I made sure to visit all the locations prior to bridal prep and get familiar with the flow of the day.
The day started with Kelsey getting ready at The Packhorse Inn in Moulton and my wonderful second shooter Becky heading with the groom party to get ready at The Three Blackbirds pub nearby. Kelsey then headed over to Chippenham Park to get into her beautiful dress and get ready with her bridesmaids and Mum.
Kelsey then arrived at the stunning St Peter & St Mary Magdalene Church through the most magnificent flower arch of pink and white flowers. After the service and of course some confetti we headed back to Chippenham Park for their champagne drinks reception and after a stroll round the gardens for some couple portraits the heavens opened and we ran back inside for some family portraits in The Old Ballroom. The rain wasn’t dampening anyones spirits however and Billy & Kelsey danced under umbrellas to their wedding reception where they were greeted by the truly sensational Function Band for their entrance to their wedding breakfast.
Let’s take a minute to talk about The Function Band, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with them a few times now and they never ever fail to deliver, there is no atmosphere like a wedding reception with The Function band. They bring so much fun, get all your guests up on their feet and put a smile on everyones faces and that’s just over dinner! They are honestly incredible and I couldn’t recommend them enough! They give you a sensational entrance to your wedding breakfast and can take you all the way into the early hours, keeping that dance floor full all the way into the early hours! Kelsey and Billy’s wedding reception was just that, THE most incredible party. Their guests partied HARD and the atmosphere was incredible to be part of.
Kelsey and Billy thank you so much for having me be a part of your day, I had the most incredible time!
