Ashlie & Scott at Saltmarshe Hall
Saltmarshe Hall is one of the best venues around. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many weddings here and I have loved every single one. I adore the cream stone on the outside of the building, it makes for stunning portraits and the grounds have so many surprises you wouldn’t expect for you and your guests to explore or have photos in including exquisitely manicured gardens, an outdoor swimming pool, a canopy of trees you could have an outdoor ceremony or wedding breakfast under and a secret cliff top looking onto the River Ouse. It is definitely not a venue short on options and whilst the grounds may be huge, every wedding I have been a part of here has always felt intimate and personable. And after all that, Ashley and the team at Saltmarshe Hall are fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble and they make every wedding perfect and personable.
Ok gushing review over and done with it’s time to chat about Ashlie and Scott’s wonderful day. It started in the bridal suite at Saltmarshe with her 3 bridesmaids, Scott’s mum, Ashlie’s mum & sister and their 4 children. It was busy but Ashlie was calm and collected at all times and it was such a lovely fun atmosphere. Scott and his brother arrived and were getting ready down the hallway as two huge buses of guests arrived all excited for the day.
Ashlie had planned the day to perfection so we had plenty of time for some beautiful bridal portraits or her and her children before heading down the gorgeous Saltmarshe staircase ready for the ceremony. Just a quick side note about Ashlie’s dress, it was entirely custom made by seamstress Dot Speight along with her matching flower girl dresses. The huge detachable bow detail at the back was absolutely stunning!
The gorgeously lit ceremony room was perfectly dressed with a circle flower arch by Chantal's perfect day floristry and white chair sashes. Their ceremony was so personal and emotional with their children right by their sides. They then headed to the ironic Saltmarshe staircase for a confetti moment and some group photos before heading to the lawns for a sun filled drinks reception. The kids took this opportunity to have a fab time playing lawn games and
Once they had greeted their guests we took a stroll round the beautiful gardens for some stunning couple portraits before heading in for their wedding breakfast and speeches. The sun was still shining so everyone then headed back outside for some incredible entertainment by magician Rich Reynolds while we took a sunset stroll to get a few more couple portraits. It was then time for some dancing, shots and sparklers to top off the night!
Thank you so much to Ashlie & Scott for having me, it was such an incredible day!
